Squaw Creek Singletrack Season 2017

What an amazing year it has been for the singletrack at Squaw Creek!

Words from our Squaw “Dirt Boss” Noel Kehrt…

“Hey folks, for those that have been riding Squaw Creek for years, this will be old news. For those that are new to Squaw Creek, please listen up.
Back in the previous decade when we first met with Linn County regarding the possibility of building the trails at Squaw Creek that we all enjoy now, we had to come to an agreement on a particular issue that is going to be affecting trail access very soon. That agreement was that in each calendar year, the singletrack trails that are built and maintained by LAMBA will close between the dates of October 1st and January 31st for bow hunting season. Our trails are located smack dab in the middle of several bow hunting zones that Linn County allows a specified number of permit holders to bow hunt each year.
What this means to us is that we have about 2 more weeks of this year to enjoy the singletrack trails at Squaw Creek and then they will close for the year. I know that this will disappoint some of our users, but please understand that this closure is something we need to communicate, follow, and respect for various reasons which include safety, conservation, and goodwill. These closures will be marked with signage and barricades.
So, get out there and enjoy the trails for the next two weeks. But as of October 1st, please stay off of them until they open again in 2018.”
